## Key observations on how industrial work is changing

Across the analyzed functions, the future state reflects a consistent shift away from manual toward autonomous operation, with human roles concentrating on oversight, governance and judgment.  The share of machine-led tasks grow substantially in every function, most dramatically in production, where they reach 64 percent and supply chain, where they reach 44 percent.  Human-with-machine work becomes the dominant mode in maintenance at 67 percent and remains significant across logistics, quality and supply chain, reflecting the continued importance of human oversight in complex, exception-driven environments.  Human-led work shifts in share across all functions, moving from direct execution toward strategy, governance, compliance and arbitration of decisions that autonomous systems cannot make independently as more and more work is done alongside technology.
